History: We caught news of the limited production LT-4 Camaros early and learned how difficult it is can be to convince a dealership to sell a model car it had never even heard of. Even at an unspecified full list price, but Jim Quinlan Chevrolet in FL agreed, and we were on the list. Officially the #2 production car, our Camaro actually was the very first of 100 production Camaros (it has the lowest Vin# of all the LT-4 cars) sequentially delivered to and the first completed by SLP for GM specific delivery to selected U.S dealerships. The assignment and first delivery of this Vin# Camaro to Rick resulted from our plea to GM corporate to expediate delivery for use in our then ongoing '97 Show Tour. (We also asked to correct the option list, after the car had been assigned {impossible!}, as we, as many others of the near 80 cars pre-sold before delivery, had mis-read the GM-ese option descriptions, mistakenly ordering the leather seat inserts believing the option to be houndstooth cloth). .....and the General came through with both the houndstooth seats and delivery on the first carrier of LT-4's out. (Nice story....documented, too). However, a marketing deal which promised a prominent dealership the #1 car as one of ten specially dealership prepped LT-4 cars to be delivered as a block, resulted in a little number shuffling as the cars block assigned were still being delivered to and built by SLP. Shown by Rick at most Super Chevy Shows in the '97 and '98 seasons.
Sold in 2002 (with 64 miles) to a private collector.
